He was born on February 24, 1940. He attended Byrd High School in Shreveport, LA. After high school he joined the U.S. Coast Guard. He subsequently enrolled at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA., where he received a degree in Industrial Engineering. After college he worked several different jobs to include the oil field, Delta Airlines, rodeo clown, professional diver, and a private pilot. After his father’s passing he took over the family business, Hampson Photography, and spent his remaining working years as a professional photographer focusing on aerial and commercial underwater work. Because of that love, he moved to Harrison, AR., where he made many new friends and discovered many new interests.
Mr. Hampson is survived by his two children, Lynne Hampson Wilder and Wallis Hampson. Also surviving are his brother and sister in law, Reverend and Mrs. James E. Hampson, four grandchildren, Lauren and Briton Hampson, and Lily and Landon Wilder, and many close 'Harrison family and friends'.
